Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the haul mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Service Description

haul is a nutrition tracking application that uses receipt scanning, barcode scanning, and AI-powered analysis to help you track your dietary intake. The App provides features including but not limited to: calorie and macro tracking, micronutrient monitoring, AI-generated meal suggestions, smart grocery lists, gamification, and social features (squads).

3. Accounts

To use haul, you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information during registration.

4. Subscriptions

haul offers premium features through subscription plans. Subscriptions are managed through Apple In-App Purchases and processed by RevenueCat.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policies.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to the App, including food logs, recipes, and profile information. By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely for the purpose of providing the service.

6. AI-Generated Content

haul uses artificial intelligence to generate meal suggestions, nutrition insights, grocery lists, and other content. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as the sole source of nutritional guidance.
• AI-generated nutritional estimates may not be perfectly accurate and should be treated as approximations.
• AI-generated meal suggestions may not account for all dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical conditions.
• You are responsible for verifying the accuracy and suitability of any AI-generated content before acting on it.

7. HealthKit Integration

If you choose to enable Apple HealthKit integration, haul may read health data (steps, active calories, exercise, weight) and write nutrition data (calories, macronutrients) to HealthKit. This integration is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time through the App's settings or your device's Privacy settings.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, its servers, or any related systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality or infrastructure.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Use the App to transmit harmful, offensive, or objectionable content.
• Create multiple accounts or use automated systems to access the App.
• Misuse the squad or social features to harass or harm other users.

9. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding user content), is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our express written consent.

10. Medical Disclaimer

haul is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The nutritional information, meal suggestions, and health insights provided by the App are for informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition, food allergies, or are taking medication.

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• Nutritional data from third-party food databases will be accurate or complete.
• AI-generated content will meet your specific needs or requirements.
• Receipt scanning or barcode scanning will always produce accurate results.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the App.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the App (Profile > Delete Account) or by contacting us. Upon termination, all data associated with your account will be permanently deleted.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
